How to Apply for PMEGP Subsidy Scheme Using Your Mobile in 2026
The Prime Minister’s Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) is a credit-linked subsidy scheme of the Government of India designed to help eligible individuals establish new micro-enterprises and generate employment. The scheme is implemented by the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) under the Ministry of MSME. Applications for new projects are submitted online through the PMEGP e-Portal.
PMEGP Scheme Eligibility
For a new PMEGP unit, an individual applicant must generally be above 18 years of age. There is no income ceiling for assistance for setting up a new project. For projects above ₹10 lakh in manufacturing and above ₹5 lakh in business/service, the applicant should have at least an VIII-standard pass qualification.
The maximum project cost eligible for margin-money subsidy is ₹50 lakh for manufacturing projects and ₹20 lakh for business/service projects. The remaining eligible amount can be financed by the bank according to the applicable scheme and lending conditions.
